Nancy Shia's hatred of Jews who do not bow to terrorism allows racism to run amok on DC Indymedia

Note these criticisms that the DC indymedia editors do not wish you to see. Nancy Shia, Chris Belcher, Mike Flugennock, Luke Kuhn, and Joan Yoshwara's love of Muslim extremists killing Jews knows no bounds.

And DC Indymedia's fetish with Israel vilification continues. This isn't an indymedia site. It's a clique of 3-4 editors with an anti-semitic-fueled obsession with critiquing Israel while supporting and providing PR material for authoritarian and oppressive groups: great job creating and featuring PR video for Nasrallah, and the pro suicide bomber cartoons are even better. Of course, you'll hide (if not just outright delete--'cause why bother even following your own rules) this comment and demand to be written to on an entirely private listserv--making this site less open to reader critique than most mainstream media outlets. ANSWER, Hezbollah, and Protest Warriors have found their kin in you. Have fun living with the karma you're weaving

I think a few Indymedia's still are seen as credible and true to the original open vision of Indymedia. The DC indymedia definitely isn't one of them. (Actually, it's one of the worst.)

If this account were actually concerned with the whole truth and all threats to peace and justice there also would *also* be accounts and critique of Hezbollah's non-governmental militias, their links and significant arms shipments with Iran & Syria, and their current practice of sending 150-250 missiles a day aimed at civilian targets in Israel.

Israel gets called a "rogue state" while a large, non-governmental militia in Lebanon amasses thousands of missiles and launches hundreds a day aimed at Israeli population centers. All the while, this same group uses civilians and UN peacekeeping troups in the area as human shields. This isn't a principled critique of human rights abuses and unethical conduct in war. Because that would include scathing remarks of BOTH Israel and Hezbollah. No, this sort of hypocritical fetish of vilifying Israel comes from somewhere else. This kind of antisemitic tripe mis-represented as aligning or having anything to do with the peace movement is wholly shameful.

"Bottle rockets vs. 2 ton bombs... "Conflating Hezbollah missiles with bottle rockets is about as obscene and far from reality as you can get. It's clear that your racism and militant hate trumps any affection for truth. And Hezbollah is not "the resistance"--it's an overtly anti-semitic organization that destabilizes Lebanon (those militias had no governmental accountability and were receiving arms and resources from Iran and Syria, both of which have a long-legacy of trying to undermine Lebanese democracy and autonomy). Ugh, the ignorance here is so sad. Read about the Cedar Revolution. Yes, Israel has acted unjustly here. But Hezbollah is no friend of Lebanon nor peace. It's disheartening to see the peace and social justice movement hijacked by such a dreadful, militant, group.
